The Headboard

We found it! We found it!

Just what we were looking for...an upholstered headboard.
Sorry again for the picture, another camera phone classic. (my camera is dead and ive been really lazy about charging it) and no that is not an angel or ghost in the corner, it's our bedroom light.

It looks soo much better in person and with our new bedding it really pops! add a little silver sage or atmosphere blue paint and it will be great! So over as my mom says "apartment white" paint.

I'm so happy with our purchase. I love the fact of how tall it is. Our mattress is pretty thick and we were running into finding headboards that once you put your pillows up you wouldn't see the headboard, which completely defeats the purpose of a headboard.

So bedroom is finished!!

Lost in the Hallway {Part 2}

Ikea was a huge success this past weekend. My favorite purchase were the frames I bought for our "lost in the hallway" experience at the condo.

Unfortunately, I took this with my phone because i forgot my camera so it's not the best pic and I was literally laying everything out in the store. I got a few stares but wanted to make sure i was creating a good wall! We ended up adding a few more 5x7s and another 4x6. I have a few pictures in mind but excited to go through some really old ones and get some "classics" framed.

I can't wait to share with you what we found at Pottery Barn ! I bet you can guess it...

Bedroom...complete!

Well almost!

So happy! I found the quilt this weekend at the Pottery Barn Outlet that I have been eyeing to complete our master bedroom.

Not only did I find the quilt (only one left, i might add) but they also had two shams too and the best part of it all, it was marked down 65%!!

We are still looking for a headboard...it's so hard to find a king headboard!! Every place has tons of options for a queen, but a lot of places don't make kings. It's crazy, I didn't think it would be this difficult. We are going to keep on looking until we find something we love.

But other than that all we have to do is paint and the bedroom is complete!!!

oh and we still have to move! ha... less than 8 weeks!

Stupid Tax

So excited! This weekend AK and I are traveling to Nashville to see Dave Ramsey Live! My bro and his wife got us tickets for Christmas. Ak and I have been using bits and pieces of his program for almost a year but need a little bit more motivation! We have been using the envelope system since January 1st and it's working very well!!! Looking forward to walking away with some great information on Saturday.

Fun & Flashy Holiday Cards

It's Christmas Card season again! I love love getting Christmas cards in the mail. Checking the mail is the highlight of my day during the holiday season! There are so many varieties and types of holiday cards and I love seeing all the different styles.

I'll be honest I have been searching for the perfect card for sometime now and I always come back to the Christmas cards at Shutterfly. I'm super pumped this year though, because shutterfly is offering 50 FREE photo cards if you blog about their great holiday cards!

They have such a broad range and selection of cards with bright and bold colors and the best part - the cards are so user friendly to personalize! My personal favorites are their Christmas photo cards.

After searching and searching I have finally narrowed my selection down to four!

Shutterfly is also a great site to buy invitations for holiday parties, baby/bridal showers, birth announcements and the list goes on! If you haven't already bought your holiday card, I would definitely check them out! Hope you find your perfect holiday card!

Saving Sites

I love websites that offer great deals and steals! I wanted to share with you my favorites:

Southern Savers - http://www.southernsavers.com/
Learn how to REALLY coupon, print coupons, find out discount codes, free samples, etc.

Restaurant.com http://www.restaurant.com/
Buy $25 gift cards for $10. But usually there is a code on southernsavers.com where you can get them for $2!!!

Groupon - http://www.groupon.com/
Everyday groupon offers a deal usually half off for restaurants, spas, car services, etc. Another great site!!

Living Social - http://livingsocial.com/
Very similar to groupon, just a different site.

Craigslist - http://www.craiglist.org/
I know we all know about craiglist but you can find the best stuff on here!! I know it can seem a bit creepy but I have never met a weird/creepy person before when I have used craigslist. Everyone has been so delightful! Just make sure you meet at a public place or if they must come to your home, don't be alone! You know, just use common sense!

Hope you enjoy these sites as much as I do! Please let me know if you know of any other great sites!

.86

I heart CVS! I must admit I used to be a Walgreens girl, but I have officially made the switch! CVS offers extra care bucks on some items each week and 2% back on all purchases. The extra care bucks offer you money of an item and then you can use that money on future purchases. I went to CVS last week and got the best deal yet.

I got all of this for .86!! Yes that is right! I combined extra care bucks and coupons to score this great deal!!

Everyday

I have been looking at buying some new everyday dinnerware and have fallen in love with a couple patters - I loved this Lenox pattern

and also really liked this from World Market

Since I really didn't NEED it, I was planning on asking it for my birthday or Christmas but then...

I went to TJ Maxx!

I love love love this store! I scored a huge find this weekend and I am super excited about my purchase.

Take a Look... It's actually my favorite out of the three and I got dinner plates, salad plates, bowls, and coffee cups for 1/2 the price of the two above!

Every bit counts!

So, I didn't do as well as I hoped at the old grocery store! But it's a start, for sure. It's more then I saved then the last time I went!

I saved a whopping $9.24. Every little bit counts, that's almost enough for two burrito bowls at Chiptole! (Yum...I love those things!)

Happy Almost Friday!

Save, Save, Save!

Y'all! I have got to share with you three websites you have to check out! They involve couponing and saving money! If your like me, I have tried the couponing thing before and got burnt out really fast. It's time consuming and I was saving like $3.00. But now I know there is an "art" to doing it the right way and saving!

My friend Lauren first introduced southern savers to me on her blog here. It's seems very overwhelming but watch the tutorials on the best way to coupon and score great deals! She also recommended me checking out two other sites money saving mom, and Mad Savvy Savers that I have found most helpful!

I am going to the grocery tomorrow and I will let you know how much I save!

Running of the Bulls...No it's Brides!

Last night I went to Filene's Basement in search of some silver evening shoes. I was amazed of what I saw when I walked in.
Hundreds of wedding dresses with caution tape around the area and anxious brides leaning over the caution tape, planning their route this morning at 8am when the doors opened. Yes, this was the running of the brides. Have you ever seen this on the news? It's crazy! One of the cashiers told me all of the gowns are generally cleared within 6o seconds of the brides running in! They even had shirts that said "I survived." I really didn't believe that it would be worth it to actually go running for a gown...well let me tell you, IT IS!!!

Even though I am already married, I too was leaning over the caution tape oohing and ahhing at all of the beautiful gowns! My mouth dropped when I saw a Vera Wang dress for $699!! Dresses ranged in price from $249 to $699. The original price of these gowns was anywhere from $900 - $9000!

I think it would definitely be worth your while to go check it out, if you can handle all of the people. You may find the gown of your dreams for a fraction of the price. Now, that's what I call a good deal!

Click here to see if there is a Running of the Brides event near you!

Five for $5

Andy and I have discovered an awesome Friday night deal! Whole Foods here in Columbus offers five wine samplings with a food pairing (or should I say bite) for $5 dollars!
Talk about a cheap date! Although after walking through Whole Foods and sampling their delicious foods Andy and I usually come out with a few bags! But it makes the experience more enjoyable, grocery shopping while drinking wine, why not?!

I am not sure if this is offered in every Whole Foods that sells wine or just here in Columbus. I know in Nashville that they can't do this because they don't sell wine. It's worth looking into your Whole Foods store for sure!

Canvas - Part 2

I found it!!! While in Nashville over the weekend I was on the hunt for the perfect frame. I asked Andy's Godmother and Aunt where they would suggest. Since the canvas is a standard 16x20, they suggested a pre-made frame. Andy's Godmother suggested a photographer studio and Andy's aunt suggested Hobby Lobby. I didn't even think to look at either one of these.

I knew I couldn't make it to a studio this weekend, but near my mom's house there was a Hobby Lobby. On Saturday me and mom went searching. I didn't have high hopes since I have been looking and looking at framing places and didn't have much luck.

Not only did I find the perfect frame, but there were two that could of worked! I was having a hard time picking out which one I liked more! I said I didn't want to get a good deal, but I did!!

I would highly recommend Hobby Lobby if you are looking to frame a canvas or anything that is a standard size. They have great pre-made frames!!!

This picture doesn't do it justice, much prettier in person!

Holiday Greetings

As a little girl I would always love getting Christmas cards in the mail. It's the time of year that people send pictures of their family, well wishes, and holiday cheer.

Andy and I are sending out our first Christmas Card this year. I searched and searched for the perfect card. I remembered from last year I received a really cute card from my friend Ally. She had ordered it from Pear Tree Greetings. I checked out their website and found a card I really liked.

Pear Tree Greetings also has invitations, baby announcements, and even stationery. I would highly recommend checking their site for any occasion. Cute cards and you know I love a good deal!

Weekend Festivites

Whew...what a weekend! Andy and I had a great time in Nashville over Thanksgiving. We participated in the Boulevard Bolt, visited with family, caught up with friends, had too much to eat, and most importantly me and mom carried on the tradition of Black Friday shopping!!!

When I was little we always had Thanksgiving at my grandparents in Mississippi. Every Friday morning my grandmother and mom would head out early to go shopping. Back then, the stores opened at 6am, now they open at 4am! When I turned 16 I went on my first Black Friday and the tradition began for me and my mom.

Piece of Advice: I highly recommend going with one other person. One to start running, knocking over people (just kidding) to go get the one item(s) that you want, let's say that TV. While the other person has gone to grab the cart or to even go ahead and get in line.

On Thursday night we went through the ads and decided where we wanted to go. We started our adventure at Belk at 4:15am, then headed off to Target, HH Gregg, JCPenny, Joann, back to Belk, and where headed home by 8am.

We had a quick nap and were up again at 10am for Round Two! We headed to Nashville West to go to World Market and Bath & Body Works.

We were both very pleased with our purchases! Belk for me, had the best deals!

I look forward to enjoying this tradition again next year with my mom.
